“Location”
We are located in the White Mountains of Arizona at 8,500 feet elevation. Greer is a gorgeous and pleasant 4 hour drive from Phoenix or Tucson and a 3 ½ hour drive from Albuquerque.
Great Lakes Airlines has daily airline service from Phoenix to Show Low.
In the winter, travelers may require four-wheel drive or chains. Check with Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for road conditions.
Driving Directions:
From Points South (Tucson or Southern Phoenix): Take Highway 60 East to Show Low.
From Points West (Phoenix/ Scottsdale): Take Beeline Hwy to Payson, East to Show Low.
From Show Low: On the East side of Show Low turn right onto Highway 260 East and go approximately 45 miles until you reach Junction 373.
*Turn right (South) on State Road 373 and travel 5 miles to Greer. Stay on the main road (Main Street) through the village of Greer. After you pass through the village, turn left at the beige, stucco “Amberian Peaks Lodge” sign. Cross the one-lane bridge over the Little Colorado River and continue up the drive to our lodge.
From points North and East (Colorado or Albuquerque):
Take Interstate 40 West to Exit 339, turn south on Hwy 191 going thru St. Johns to Springerville/Eager. Turn right (West) onto Highway 260. When you reach State Road 373, make a left and follow the above directions (*) to our location.
From Points West and North (California, Grand Canyon, or Las Vegas):Take Interstate 40 East to Holbrook, Exit 285 (Business I-40), State Highway 180 to St. Johns. Turn right (South) on Highway 180/191 (South) towards Springerwille/Eagar. Turn right on Highway 260 (west), to Junction 373. Turn left to Greer, following the above (*) instructions.
