“Activities = Adventure”

Nothing is so invigorating and mind stimulating as activities at “The Peaks.”

Whether your passion is fishing, hiking, running, biking, nature walking, birding, photography or stargazing, we have the activities that can draw you close to nature, right here at the Amberian Peaks Lodge.

You don’t have to leave our property to discover a world of adventure. Our guests enjoy outstanding complimentary activities, plus our knowledgeable staff can help you arrange for area activities ranging from horseback riding, archeological digs, summer chair lift rides, winter skiing and cross country skiing, to civilized activities like shopping trips, museum tours and casino outings.

Don’t forget your camera!
And be sure to enter our Photo Contest. Send us your awe inspiring, funniest, most sentimental, wackiest, or most imaginative photo taken here at the Amberian Peaks and we’ll enter in our Photo Contest. Every six months we select our favorite photo and the winner receives a $50 gift certificate.

Fishing- You have arrived in world-class, fly fishing country! You can drop a line right at our bridge on the Little Colorado River (they stock Rainbow, Brown and Apache trout every week during summer) or venture out to one of eight great fishing lakes in the area. Stop in at The Tin Star Trading Post for your fishing supplies and the latest fishing tales. We’ll help you hire a fishing guide for the ultimate fly fishing experience.

Self Guided Nature Walks- Step outside our doors and a world of natural beauty beckons. Add a picnic lunch and your walk becomes an adventure. Treat yourself to a bird sighting journey. Trails from the Lodge lead into the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.
A gentle stroll or invigorating walk…? You decide.

Running in the Pines- If you’re up early and hanker for a brisk run, no matter the season, join our GM, Pat Boyd, on his morning run. He’ll take you on his favorite routes and blow your mind with the peace and wonder of Greer’s mountain trails.

Hiking- For our adventuresome souls, there are great hikes everywhere, and for those interested in survival hiking, we can arrange for you to hire a professional hiking guide to teach you the tricks of successful mountain survival techniques.

Mountain Biking- It doesn’t get any better than this. Challenging and awesome trails call to the serious biker. Bring your biking group or go solo through this alpine paradise.

Stargazing at “The Peaks”- On Saturday nights (weather permitting), we gather on our view deck for a star show extraordinaire, with our Celetron 80, computerized telescope, gazing into one of the country’s darkest night skies. See the Milky Way like never before. Marvel at Saturn’s rings. View a Moon so close you can almost touch it.
“What a thrill! I spotted a Dipper Cinclidae (also known as a Water Ouzel). It was right under the bridge here at the Peaks. It’s quite a rare sight seeing it bobbing along the fast running Little Colorado River.” Robert R., St Johns,AZ
